Kierunek Language and Communication in Healthcare to studia stacjonarne II stopnia prowadzone przez Wydział Anglistyki UAM oraz przez zaproszonych wykładowców z różnych uczelni w kraju, wybitnych ekspertów z zagranicy, a także uwzględnia udział doświadczonych praktyków w zawodach, w których język jest narzędziem dążenia do zdrowia i dobrostanu człowieka.

W semestrze pierwszym studenci zaznajomią się z pojęciem szeroko rozumianej komunikacji w kontekście zdrowotnym, jak i jej cech charakterystycznych. Przedmioty w tym zakresie będą miały charakter bardziej teoretyczny i będą miały na celu dać studentom rozeznanie w temacie i przygotować ich do dalszych bardziej wąskich tematycznie zajęć. W ramach bloku praktycznej nauki języka angielskiego, w ścisłym powiazaniu z kontekstem ochrony zdrowia, studenci będą mieć zajęcia z gramatyki angielskiej oraz słownictwa medycznego. Ponadto, zgłębią tematykę komunikacji akademickiej jako aktywności społecznej, aby później przejść do zagadnienia dyskursu akademickiego, jego cech oraz realizacji na potrzeby pracy dyplomowej.

W trakcie całych studiów, tj. wszystkich czterech semestrow, studenci uczestniczą w serii wykładów eksperckich, najczesciej wygłaszanych przez wykładowców spoza Wydziału albo spoza UAM.

W drugim semestrze studenci skupią się na metodologii prowadzenia badań (zarówno jakościowych, jak i ilościowych), zapoznają sie z tematyką antropologii medycznej, oraz rolą języka i komunikacji w procesach psychoterapeutycznych. Studenci będa mogli też zgłębić tematykę komunikacji z osobami wymagającymi opieki, osób wykluczonych społecznie i osób z niepełnosprawnościami. Ponadto w tym semestrze dwusemestralny blok praktycznej nauki języka angielskiego kończy się egzaminem pisemnym i ustnym.

W trakcie całych studiów, tj. wszystkich czterech semestrow, studenci uczestniczą w serii wykładów eksperckich, najczesciej wygłaszanych przez wykładowców spoza Wydziału albo spoza UAM.

W trzecim semestrze, jak również dowiedzą się o przygotowaniu audiodeskrypcji dla podniesienia jakości życia osób częściowo wykluczonych oraz zastosowaniach technik teatru na potrzeby edukacji medycznej. W bloku zajęć do wyboru znajdą się przedmioty dotyczące tłumaczenia tekstów medycznych oraz tlumaczenia wewnątrzjezykowego, a dokladnie tworzenia popularnych odpowiedników medycznych tekstów fachowych.

Jednocześnie studenci kontynuują pisanie pracy magisterskiej; zwieńczeniem studiów jest egzamin dyplomowy.
