Major Filologia wschodniosłowiańska
2023/24, First-cycle programme, studia niestacjonarne wieczorowe
The field of study East Slavic Philology belongs to the area of education in the humanities. The learning outcomes include issues from two scientific disciplines, i.e. linguistics and literary studies.
The field of study of East Slavic Philology within the scope of part-time studies of the first degree includes the following specialisations:
- Russian philology.
The study programme enables the student to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the fields of linguistics, literary and cultural studies, as well as a high level of skill and competence in practical knowledge of the foreign language(s), i.e. the languages studied within the framework of the individual specialisations.
Equipping graduates with the knowledge and skills of interpreting the linguistic, literary and cultural phenomena and contexts of the East Slavic area while confronting them with native cultural and linguistic competence will allow them to use them practically in professional work of a different nature, in which specialised linguistic and intercultural qualifications are necessary.
The graduates acquire these qualifications during the implementation of groups of subjects, i.e. exercises, conversation classes, laboratories and workshops that make up the block of subjects related to the practical knowledge of the foreign language(s), as well as subjects related to history, language, literature, literary and cultural comparative studies and socio-cultural realities of a given language area.
The study programme enables the students to acquire and perfect the fundamental competences and skills required on the labour market, such as effective organisation of their own work, responsibility in performing the tasks entrusted to them, the ability to work individually and in teams, the ability to make independent choices, awareness of the need for self-education and the integration of knowledge from various disciplines.
First-cycle studies conclude with a Bachelor's degree in East Slavic Philology and a chosen specialisation. Graduates can continue their studies in second-cycle studies in the same field of study and in other fields of study, where knowledge of Russian is required, as well as the ability to have a proper orientation in the socio-cultural realities of a specific language area.
